Duties and Responsibilities: They examine eyes and other parts of the visual system. In addition, they diagnose and treat visual problems and manage diseases, injuries, and other disorders of the eyes, as well prescribing eyeglasses or contact lenses as needed.
Salary: $106,140 per year $51.03 per hour
Education:
Demand for this particular career: They must complete a Doctor of Optometry degree program and obtain a license to practice in a particular state. Doctor of Optometry programs take up to 4 years to complete and most students enter with a bachelor's degree.
